We are thrilled to have been recognised in The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2023, which lists Britain’s top employers – produced in partnership with the employee-experience platform WorkL. Our team all took part in an engagement survey earlier this year – and we are proud to be one of just 83 businesses recognised in Medium Company (50-249 employees) category, out of thousands of entries.
The survey uses 35 questions, developed by behavioural scientists, data analysts, psychologists, business leaders, academics and other independent parties to most accurately monitor employee engagement and wellbeing in the workplace.
To achieve a high overall engagement score, a company must consistently perform well across its six-step framework, encompassing:
It is not possible to trade off one dimension against another – in a highly engaged workplace all six steps will be seen positively by employees, albeit to varying degrees.
Susie Canny, HR lead for Pearson Ham Group told us “Gaining this award is really exciting for a company like us. We have doubled in size in the last 12 months, so maintaining our strong culture and values has been at the forefront of our minds. The fact that these awards are solely determined by the views of all our colleagues makes it even more rewarding. We have lots of initiatives in place to make Pearson Ham Group a great place to work – and I am delighted to see that the effort put in by the whole team has paid off”.
