Welcome to a day in the life with Sakshi Zanwar.
I usually travel into the office 2/3 times a week. I commute to work on the tube and use my journey time to connect with my family, read a book or listen to music.
When I get into the office, I start my day with a coffee. In the mornings, you can usually find the team gathered around the coffee machine, so I use this as an opportunity to catch up with my colleagues.
Once I have my coffee, I find a desk and spend the first 30 minutes of the day catching up on emails, meetings, and deliverables for the day. I find this part of my day useful, as I can see what the day ahead looks like and can organise my work around any important meetings.
If I’m on a client project, my morning may slightly differ because we would then have a daily catch up at 9:30 where we discuss the project progress and tasks for the day.
Soho has a plethora of food options. I typically have lunch with my colleagues, and we tend to pick nearby places or go to the food market. Lunch is a great time to take a break from work and catch up with colleagues.
We have Lunch & Learn on Thursdays where everyone gathers around the common area for presentations on different topics by people in the company while we eat.
After lunch, I make another coffee.
I usually spend my afternoons split between meetings, independent tasks, and midday/end of day check-ins.
If I don’t have a lot of meetings, I block a couple of hours in my diary every afternoon to focus on individual tasks (client and internal), while listening to music.
After work, you will either find me catching up with my friends, focussing on my fitness through swimming, or finding relaxation in yoga. My roommates and I usually spend 1 or 2 days of the week cooking together too, which is a great pastime because we have a chance to catch up and reflect on our week.
To wind down for the night, I enjoy reading and like to do this every night to help me relax.
My favourite thing about working at Pearson Ham Group is the people. Everyone is genuinely interested in both the client as well as internal activities going on and ready to help when needed.
The culture is very open, fun and transparent which is reflected well within the company meetings, social events and L&D sessions.
